Tire Pressure?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just picked up my BFG All Terrains last night. What is the suggested tire pressure I should run in them. I have 50 lbs in each right now.

I drive a 1500 Z71 4wd, ext cab.

How can I add a picture here to show off my new tires?

i usually run 52 all around or 52 up front and 50 in the rears

keep the pressure for a few days and see how you like it.  I like a little more pressure and it rides slightly rough.

If you want it to ride smoother take some air out

36 pounds in mine and I'm going on 60K miles with tread left.  I can't imagine why anyone would run ANY more than that unless towing significant weight.

same here

you definately want less in the rear.  If you dont the centers will wear out much faster than the front.  On my last truck (same as yours) i ran 35-40 in the front and 30 in the rear and they lasted a very long time with event wear.  On my hd its a little different I run 45 in the front and 30 in the rear, a buddy of mine has the same truck with the same miles (10k)and tires and he runs 50 in all and the centers are just about bald

mine tires are wearing evenly after 25K miles.  No center wear at all

I agree about the lower pressure in the rear.  A friend of mine has BFG's as well.  He always ran 48-50 all around...tire shop told him this.  Well, he's now looking at tires with centers that are wore out.  He's not a happy camper....they have 28-30k on them too...

I run my tires like this:  38-40 front & 30-32 rear.  Very even tire wear.  If I have a load or carrying my quad with trailer, I bump it up to 40-42.
