Engine surging in mornings

Is this normal? Every morning when I start my truck it surges for about a half mile or so, while I drive 15-20, until I get out of the neighborhood and onto a street. It doesn't happen any other time. It isn't searching gears, it just doesn't want to stay at one speed until I get it warmed up.

I have never experienced what you're describing in my 2015 or anything else except vehicles with VERY large cams.

I just posted a new thread about this same issue. Check out my thread at the top of this section. Let me know if that sounds like the same issue you're having.

I have this exact same issue in my 2015 Sierra with around 800 miles on it. Only happens after the trucks been sitting for longer than a few hours (on my way to work and when I'm leaving). I'm typically in first gear and traveling less than 20 MPH.
