Driver assist handle install and part #

Hey guys. I'm a little late to the party but....just got my 15 1500 Silverado. My drivers side doesn't have the handle but I did pull the trim down to see if I had the 2 brackets to hold the handle and they are there. My question is there are holes to bolt the handles to but they are not threaded. Mine looks like the bracket and then a 1/4 inch "bushing" welded to the mounting hole. Were any of yours threaded or did you have to tap the hole. Really want the handle but unsure on unthreaded "nuts". Does the part come with just the handle or is the handle part of the whole windshield a pillar trim?

You do not need to tap, the part comes with the two bolts and they screw right in. Maybe the threads are hard to see, but they are there.

You can kind of see them in the shot in this post http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/158271-interior-driver-assist-handle/?p=1685729

The piece replaces the whole trim with an integrated handle just like the one on the passenger side.

It comes with bolts and the little cover plates.

Part number will depend on your interior color, follow the thread above for correct part numbers.

The bolts are called Taptite. I assume a self tapping screw.

Cocoa Dune interior use 23285089. Other interiors use 23135699 or 23285090.
