Which aftermarket radio?

It's been a while since I've been on and I'm looking into getting an aftermarket display radio. When I had last looked it was the Advent OGM I think was the latest and greatest? Is there anything better or less expensive now a days? I really want to maintain functionality of my steering wheel controls and Bluetooth though. Also Pandora streaming / audio streaming is a must.

Thanks guys.

I recently had a Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS installed in my 13 Sierra. Added a backup camera, maintained steering wheel controls, Bluetooth phone connectivity (calls and streaming audio), USB/AUX, and SiriusXM. Total installed was less than $1000. Love mine so far.

I think the Advent has been discontinued for gmt900 trucks.

This is the one Walt is recommending now. The site has all kinds of info on operation and more is available for installation if you decide to buy. Plug and play install.

any double din will fit a gmt900 so will any single din you just need the install kit. there is no cutting. you can buy one from amazon or ebay even new and save quite a bit of money.

its a dnx690hd it was used think I paid 270 bucks for it. found the update online and updated the map via torrent.

Nekkid, what year truck are you running. I was looking at later down the road upgrading to a AM head unit as I'm not a huge fan of the stock one. I've seen videos and spoke to installers on installing an aftermarket double din like yours and using the I maestro to integrate all the functions like the heater control, steering wheel controls and such as well as the I maestro taps into the ecm or bcm or IED[emoji12] or whatever but reads things like tire pressure, intake temps, oil temps ect. So all in all you don't really lose functionality but gain. My only concern which is minor is jumping from an 8 inch screen, I think to a 7 inch or so. How difficult was it to install the radio?

gmt900 07 model. if you can solder wires and turn a socket and screw driver its easy on them. I used the older stuff cause the maestro was out of stock but I think im going to sell those soon and get it. cause my swc loose program everytime I have to take a battery loose.

I see you have a 15 is a loaded up one or base model?

I have a Lt non Bose. It has a lot of nice features but not as many as I once thought. Glad I didn't get the Bose as I like installing my own stereo. I feel no factory radio whether base or Bose or Harmon kardon is that great. Plus they program in a eq to the radio so you don't get the full sound potential. I know this is done so you don't blow the speakers but that's why I want an am radio. I've watched bids on alpine, Kenwood, pioneer and it seems the integration of stuff like BT, text, Navy is much better than factory. I won't be doing the radio yet as I already have a 12 inch sub installed and door speakers and amp waiting for the install plus I want a lift, nerf bars, tonnua cover ect ect ect.

I see you had the 4 inch screen. Mine is the mylink 8 inch. Almost makes me wish I had the 4. Im so used to the 8 inches dropping to 6 or 7 seems small now...wait that didn't come out right[emoji33]
