Which aftermarket radio?

if your installing a aftermarket stereo go with the maestro, i just installed a kenwood DDX393 in my 09 sierra WT which supports OEM features(climate control, parking assist, warnings, etc.) but i bought a cheaper schoshe wiring harness and cant access the OEM features with it.

I ended up going with a Kenwood DDX9702S which has android auto (a phone integration software) and got the Maestro kit with the GM idatalink harness. I decided against the Advent oem type head unit. The reason was that the technology there is already a few years old and I really think apple carplay and Android auto are going to be standard pretty soon.

I'm looking at the same head unit myself, how do you like it? Did it retain factory microphone?

no it will not retain factory microphone but i have the 9702s as well. going to upgrade to the 9703s when it arrives. Linux OS 1.5a rapid charge, and clear resistive touch screen will be huge upgrades... if you have 2007.5 and newer the maestro by Idatalink is the bomb... i want to sell my 05 and buy an 08 just to be able to use the Masetro system, it is wicked awesome.

Yes it will retain use of the factory microphone. I choose to disconnect the factory one though as I thought the aftermarket one would be better. I've since returned the 9702 to wait for the 9703 model.
