2006 Silverado dash/ airbag/ radio/ blower issues ?

Hey ya'll. I am a proud new owner of a 2006 silverado crew cab. However I am having some weird issues crop up, just days after I have purchased the truck. Was wondering if any of ya'll have dealt with these issues. Heater/ AC Fan/Blower doesn't want to come on after it is turned off, unless I repeatedly turn it off and on. The radio has hardly any speaker sound left to it. First day I had it it was ok sound, but only passenger side worked properly. Now the front speakers are the only ones working but VERY quietly. The door open chime is barely audible from the driver side speaker. Also the airbag service message keeps being displayed. I dont want the bag to blow off on its own while going down the road. Can that happen? Dealers are outrageous expensive, and I just haven't had much luck with them actually making proper repairs. I am curious as to what approach I should take and where to start the diagnosis on these issues. Also have a check engine code of P0053. Had that read and it states HO2S heater resistance(bank 1, sensor 1)Two times it comes up in the scan. However the definition of the code from Autozone reads (bank 2, sensor 1)? Is there a main electric box issue, or many different issues? I dont know exactly where to start. Thanks a bunch!

If the heater/AC fan resistor has crapped out, your fan won't work at all, or only on some speeds. If that's the case, you're in luck as there is a TSB on them and the dealer will replace it for you, free. It's located under the glovebox. It's a known problem on these trucks.

 

The airbag light is typically either the 2 sensors up front, a broken wire under the front passenger seat, or sometimes a wire under the drivers floor. The sensors are fairly cheap thru Amazon - Dordan aftermarket parts. You just need to ensure to replace them using the proper steps, or you can risk setting them off. I just replaced both of mine and airbag light went away.

 

In any case you'll need to verify for sure what the issues are..

The Body Control Module controls ALL your issues (BCM) or ECBM ... can throw different codes for no reason - search it. read up on it . Grounds (rusted / weak) on these trucks can do the same thing.

The EBCM can be reset by disconnecting your battery for 10+ minutes

you may get lucky, they can malfunction and recover by them selves or be reset by the battery disconnect.

I'd start there, sometimes (not often, they need replacement) - Simplest thing to do 1st

Your input is much appreciated fellas. I'm gonna give the battery disconnect a try here in a bit. I need to read and research, catch-up on these newer trucks and the computer/ electronics. I'm used to my 91 suburban. Never had any issues with it besides mechanical(trans went). Love that beast. But unfortunately the rust has eaten her alive. Just no longer safe to take down the highway.

Also, I was looking at the airbag sensor under the drivers seat. The metal that the sensor surrounds and the sensor moves above when the seat slides had a good coat of rust on it( seems like some carbon steel). I sanded it down to bare metal again and wiped the inner part of the sensor. I imagine that sensor works through an electro-magnetic current? But, still no luck with the warning light. Is there a certain amount of run cycles needed to reset the airbag warning or does it reset automatically if no problem is detected.
