I just saw an awesome show.

I saw an awesome concert last night.  WV Mountain Stage.

 

The acts were

 

1. Geno Delafose & Fench Rockin' Boogie (Zydeco Band from New Orleans)

2. The Kinsey Report (Great Blues Band from Gary Indiana, the lead man used to play w/ Bob Marley)

3. Bela Fleck (Awesome Banjo man) and Chris Thile (Mandolin player from Nickel Creek)

4. George Porter and The Runnin' Partners (Good Blues/Funk from Louisiana)

5. Gov't Mule (my favorite band)

 

One of the best shows I've seen.  It was awesome.

Wow, what a line-up!  Thumbs up on the Gov't Mule too.  Have seen them a few times and met the guys at a record signing gig locally.  I love the sound of Warren Haynes guitar work.  He did a really good job filling the void in the Allman Bros. for a while.  I especially like the first album with "Mule", Monkey Hill and Left Coast Groovies (the tribute to Frank Zappa one of the best musicians and guitarist to ever live).

 

One of my favorite songs that Warren Haynes plays on is the cover of one of the old BTO songs "Let it Ride" by the band Big Sugar.  It's on their "Heated" Album and worth the price for just that one.

P.S. Uncle Ted lives about 30 miles from me here in Michigan.  Have been to his World Bowhunters store for bow hunting accessories a number of times and talked with him about hunting.

Glad to hear there's someone else on here that knows who the Mule is.  Most people I know don't have a clue who they are, except that they're a band I love.   If you ever want to get a show of thiers on CD or Tape let me know, I've got a few, as well as a few other groups.  I can send you a list if you want some just let me know sometime.

 

As for Ted, that's pretty cool.  I would love to meet him.
