Leveling and bigger tires

Forgive me if this is in the wrong spot or if it has been answered elsewhere (it's my first post).

I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 4x4 with the V6. Love the truck but it looks like a 2x4. I am planning on installing the RC 2" leveling kit and putting Nitto Terra Grappler G2 p285/70/17 on it soon.

The truck came with 255/70/17. I'm wondering if this is a good choice. I'm not going to do a lot of off road stuff (maybe some hunting/fishing/camping trips where 4x4 is needed) but mainly wanting to give it a beefier look.

With the 2" level kit will I have any issues with rubbbing? Will that tire fit my factory rims? I'd love to have new rims but can't spring for everything all at once

Thanks!!!

I have a 2015 V6 and installed a 2.25" ready level kit and Nitto Terra Grapplers - 305/70/17 on the original factory wheels. absolutely love the way it looks now. I get people asking me if it's a 2500...amazing what a difference it will make. I get a slight rub when I'm at full turn in reverse only! It rubs on the liner so I plan on drilling a hole in the liner and tying it back with a zip tie...otherwise no rub at all.

285/70's should work out well with your stock wheels and RC level. All trucks vary a little bit, but you should be safe.

My 2000 came with 235's and I switched to 245's. I really thought this was a great improvement in looks and traction. My 2009 came with 245's and I switched to 265's. These tires looked good but I did notice the negative effects of larger, heavier tires with no difference in ride and traction. I now have a 2015 with 255's. I personally think this is a good width but the price, looks and selection is better with a 265. I suggest considering a high end LT265 70r/17 for your truck. They will not cause problems with your suspension, power, speedometer or kill your bank account. There is something cool about looking mild (4x2) but being able to perform as well or better than the aggressive looking trucks! I know I'm sounding like an old ****, however, just thought I'd add another perspective.
