Modifications - will they fit?

Hi,

I currently have a 2006 gmc sierra SLE 1, front cloth bench seats no armrests.

 

First modification i would like to do is replace the shifter with a 2007 model one, the current shifter is shown here -

im aware that the plus minus manual buttons wont work, but will it fit?

 

Secondly,

I currently have a steering wheel with no buttons, how hard would it be fore me to buy this:

and install it so that all of the button work, (except ofcourse for the modes that the SLE 1 doesnt have..

 

I made a topic earlier today about my plans for a center console so ill ignore that.

 

And lastly, i hate cloth seats, Does anybody know of a reasonable pair of leather/faux(fake)leather seat covers for my truck? Ones that are semi premium and have tightness around them.

Neither of the seats have any power what so ever and have no armrests.
