Throttle sticking 2000 Yukon

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2000 Yukon with 55K miles.  The gas pedal sticks.  I got a quote from the GM place, saying that my extended GM Protection Plan doesn't cover this.  And that it falls under 'emissions', that my fuel filter needs to be replaced (which I just did that a month ago), I need the throttle body cleaned, and a couple of other things, coming out to $250.  My $100 ded. doesn't apply.

Can anyone make recommendations?  Is this a warranty item?  Sounds like they are bs'in to me.

Thanks.

no its not a warranty item.  It basically falls under wear and tear.

Not much is covered by the extended warrenty. This is not covered.

As mentioned, get a can of carb cleaner and clean it yourself. Use the $250 for something better.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago.  Went to the auto parts store and bought me a can of air intake cleaner and cleaned as much of the black stuff as I could.  I also put the air intake hose back just enough to stick the straw of the can into the intake and sprayed some in it while the truck was running.  Keep in mind that if you spray to much in it will kill the truck, if this happens just restart and try again.  Save yourself the $250 and use it on mods.   :smash:  :jester:
