Gas tank contaminated?! How would I know?

Hello guys how's it going new to the forum ? Well let me tell you what's going on so I have had my truck now for almost a year and on Christmas Day I got up and open gifts with the family. After everything was done my father in law told be he went out to throw some trash away and noticed my gas door was open. When he told me that first thing that came to mind was someone was trying to steal some gas or get into my truck. As soon as he said that I ran outside and by what I could tell nothing happened besides them stealing my dogs tie down chain from the bed. But now a couple weeks went by and my anxiety kicked in and I have been thinking what if they poured sugar or contaminated my gas tank? So my question to you guys is what would be some signs if that did happen? Thanks in advance!

Symptoms of contaminated fuel could be any of the following:

-MIL "on" with misfire and/or fuel trim DTCs

-Random misfire (rough running)

-Low power (knock sensors pulling timing due to pre-detonation)

-Poor fuel economy (due to retarded timing)

-Hard start

-Crank / no start

Long story short, if you've been driving the truck for 2 weeks, I wouldn't worry about sugar in your fuel tank. You probably would've had some symptoms by now if they sabotaged your fuel tank.
