left front CV axle play

I have always had a vibration when I put in four wheel drive. I also have a noise when I turn to the left when I'm slowing down so I decided to look at the truck myself and I have in my opinion and access amount of play on the shaft coming out of the diff housing. If I grab where the CV axle bolts to the shaft that comes out of the housing I can move it up and down quite a bit. I've been to 3 different dealerships and they say that it's normal I have checked on 2 2014 other than mine, and are numerous 2015 on the lot and none of them move only side to side play.

I am wondering if there are any GM text that can give me the specs the GM allows for movement

Also when I change my front axle oil there was a lot of silver sludge in it

No specs for CV play. Only thing I see are inspection procedures (involves removing the boots and inspecting for wear or damage).

If you were in my position what would you do to get this fixed. The dealers here say there's nothing wrong with it and all they tell me it don't worry about it you still got lots of warranty left

Sounds like The diff not the axle. If you Are grabbing the bolted connection at the diff it sounds like the diff axle guide is wore out. Any fluid leaking?

Have them check the left axle nut. My truck made a popping sound when turning left. First time to the dealer they could not find anything. I climbed under and found the left cv joint had more rotational movement than the right side. I took it back and they re-torqued the left axle nut and no more popping.

See I have no vibration nor noise but do have little play only up and down in the left drivers side CV and mine is a 2015 Silverado.
