My first 1911a1 was a battle queen that was handed from one GI dog handler to the next while in Korea some how the S/N was removed and it never went back to the Army's possession. I passed it to my replacement. The second, but really my first as the other was a temporary assignment, was delivered From DCM via Railway Express to me in 1962 ( a pristine Remington Rand) and being company armorer it did not want for something to eat. At least fifty 1911's have come and gone since then but among my GI pistols is that Remington, a 95% Colt made in 1918, Colt 1943 and a 1917 Springfield plus a bunch of more modern 1911's.

A close runner for my semi auto pistol fetish is the Browning 1935 Hi Power 9mm the beauty that followed the beast.

post-169311-0-28728900-1492915656_thumb.jpeg This guy also accompanied me when I was carrying my 1911. He could not be seen at night until the bad guy had this view, Baron would hit under the right arm pit, hang on and enjoy himself to the max.

Oops, well stand on your head for a better view. :)
