HID Install

Hey guys new to the forum!!! Just picked up a 2015 silverado LT allstar edition and went to go install a set of HIDS and noticed a possible issue. The driverside had a large twist cap to gain assess to the headlight bulb. When you guys are doing the install are you drilling a whole and running a the holes through it or leaving it off completely?

Thank you very much and will start another thread with pictures of the truck and plans for it.

Thanks guys!

If its a lt you're going to have reflectors. Unless you do a projector retrofit you're going to want to avoid HIDS.

What do you mean I will have reflectors?

I know it wont be as good as if I have projectors installed but will still be much better than the factory lighting.

The headlight housing comes with reflectors on non ltz+ models. It'll be better for you but you'll be blinding everyone on the opposite side of the road. It is illegal and you want to avoid that.

While this is for a Sierra. You can see what I did in regards to the dust caps.

Hey Fondupot,

I noticed in the video you said the dust caps were about $5 a piece? You know where I can find them for around that? Cheapest I could find them for was $30 :help:

Not bad no, but a $60 mistake.when my buddy went to drill them he used a 1 1/8 hole saw. Way to big for my liking unfortuantely
