Rough shifting and slam when coming out of park

I spent last week driving a 5.7 ram, and realized that the shifting on my truck is not normal. The ram moved between gears perfectly, mine makes noise and feels like you are being pushed forwards and then back at each shift. The other possibly related issue is when I take my truck out of park I get a massive slam as soon as it shifts into gear. This especially happens when I park on an incline.

How do I phrase this to get my dealer to fix it? I have taken my truck in for this a couple times and they really don't want to do anything about either issue. It's pretty lousy having a warranty that the manufacturer refuses to honor.

Mine has been in several time for transmission problems as well. I even had them replace it once because I could reproduce a flair between 2-3. The new transmission has 3000 miles on it and it is still disappointing. The flair is back and no one is willing to look into it anymore. There are at least 3 TAC cases open on my truck the oldest being about 6 months. Anyone know what TAC stands for? I think it is Technical Assistance Center, but I haven't seen anything technical and have not received any assistance from these case numbers. I think I am just supposed to feel good because there is a case and supposedly someone is working on it.

Not really sure what to tell you as to how to get them to look at it, my dealer refuses to do anything anymore and GM's response is wait and see if they come up with a software update. I asked if someone was working on an update and after a week they were not able to tell me anything, which means no.

Your options are:

Learn to live with the poor shifting.

Trade if off for a different truck.

Get a tune.

I am leaning toward getting a tune, but would like to know if it will fix the issues first.

Just purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra 6.2 with the 8 speed trans. Nothing but problems with the transmission hard shifting from 2nd to 3rd and on deceleration..Truck has been in to service 3 times, they keep telling me they did a update on my transmission for hard shifting....they tell me that the transmission is going to learn new shifting patterns and should get better...but it has gotten worse...this is my first gmc and had high expectations..but I have been only disappointed...paid 55k for this truck nothing but problems!

Gm can't make a vehicle any more I got a 2014 sierra 1500 and a 2014 chevy cruze, both have terrible shifting and if I had the money they would be gone but I bought two vehicles and I can afford to get rid of them and trade them in but it will be my last GM vehicles I ever purchase
