No power to the wheels 2007 Yukon XL Denali

Sudden complete loss of power to the wheels. Engine remains running and responds to gas pedal, but no power to the wheels. When the shifter is moved, no evidence of anything happening in regards to gear shifting. Prior to this issue there was a clanking noise from the front left wheel well area, that I presumed to be an issue with the CV joint but I am not certain of that.

Please advise.

No power to any of the wheels? I'll take it you have 4wd? If you do I'd say the transfer case is in neutral and won't shift to engage to the drive shafts.

If the transfer case is the issue, then it will also not have park. With lever in park, you will still be able to roll the truck around like it was in neutral. As odd as it sounds, it actually does happen that someone knocks the 4wd lever into neutral accidentally once in a while.

Yukon XL Denali is either 2wd or awd. Which means no transfer case selector. If engine revs an nothing at all at wheels then it's probably auto transmission or awd transfer case. I second the put in park and see if vehicle can be moved.
