So in my truck on the home screen it says 'Onstar Navigation'. When I rode in my friends truck it just said 'Navigation'. His navigation works normal just like our other vehicles. Is this what I need to purchase to make it the same as my friends? Has anybody done this mod??

Install took less than 30 minutes. I could have had it done in 10 minutes, but it took a few extra minutes to get the GPS antenna all the way up to the bottom of the dash. It works as advertised. I didn't get a chance to play with it too much tonight. I did take a cruise through the neighborhood and it worked perfect. I'll get the truck out this weekend and take a few pics of the screen in action.

Busy weekend. I forgot to snap a pic when I was out driving around, but here is a pick of the home screen. It added the factory Nav app. The active nav screen is the same as all of my other buddies that have it. Functions exactly the same.

Has anyone tried the GM option?

Just bought a new 2016 GMC 2500 and the radio is listed as IO5, upgradable to IO6 (with NAV).

Part Number: 84093239

Its listed on the GMC accessories page for my truck. The dealer nor the service department dont know anything about it and say it cant be done, I check with the parts department and its available to order.
