one last question…I'm not a repair guy as for cars/trucks..is it possible that no one can know including a gm rep at a long standing dealer why it happened or what part may have broke that start'ed the chain reaction?its all good i just find it a bit odd that pros can't figure it out..maybe I'm wrong and thats normai. .thx

Man, if I had to guess I would say a crack in the transfer case housing that just picked that time to let go. That let the driveshaft smack into the bell housing and tear up the flywheel.

Just a WAG.

I've seen a chain slip and go through the side of the transfer case and cause a bunch of damage.

chit happens in a flash..does the starter fall into the list of damage?..they said the starter was shot..after it locked up i tried once and i got a loud bang of metal on metal..i don't know enough to say much about repairs..its over and i gota move on..gm standing behind it reminds why i bought it,class act company. only thing makes me nervous is how it ride's after repairs..before this it rode perfect..u could stack 9 pennys on the dash on a smooth rd and never fall over.. thx for ur time…bill
