Tow haul stuck on

I'm have a problem with my gear shifter in a 04 gmc sierra hd 6.0 the tow haul comes on and I have to shake the shifter to get it off sometimes it don't go off any ideas?

I had the same issue with my 2000 Sierra. I took off the column cover and found that the orange wire coming out of the shifter was severed. Yours is just starting to break I assume. I guess that over time they break from the wire going up and down too much. There are 2 small white wires inside of the orange insulation and I soldered them and put heat shrink on them and that solved the problem!
