Cognito 2" 5100

Has anybody used Cognito's 2" 5100 front shocks? Is it ok to us them without their UCA? I want a little more lift then the standard 5100's but don't want to use the standard shocks and a spacer. I would think it would be the same as doing a 2", 2.25" or 2.5" leveling kit and not using their UCA but wasn't sure.

Want to fit 275/65/R20 tires. See any issue with fitting with the Cagnito's 5100's?

Thanks advance.

I'm kinda in the same boat.....I have currently the Rough Country 2.5 lift/level kit with 275/65/20 cooper at3. The ride is ok, no rubbing. I did put bilstein 5100's on the rear which helped a ton! but the front is stock. I ordered a set of 5100's for the front. I'm trying to figure out if I should leave the kit in and run the front shocks on the stock setting or should I set the shocks at the .50 setting and run the 2" lower spacer...? Or run the shocks at the highest setting and run the 1/2" upper spacer...?

Probably best to call Cognito about running their shock with an OEM UCA. If the shock is really a special configuration built for them only, they will be the most knowledgeable.

If you use a spacer with the shock, use the thinnest one and run the shock spring pad position at its highest. A spacer allows the UCA to over extend. The thinner the spacer, the less over extension the UCA will see when the UCA droops during suspension unloading. It doesn't matter whether you use an upper or lower spacer, the effect is the same. Just remember, the higher you run a level, regardless of whether a spacer is used or the shock spring pad setting (Bilstein, King, Fox, etc.) the firmer the ride.
