baleman Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 5.3 and I'm trying to replace the engine. I'm having a hard time removing the Torque Converter to Flex Plate bolts. What size are these and does anybody have any tips to removing them? I know that I need to stop the plate from moving but it's almost impossible to remove these bolts? Is a hex preferred over a socket?
No F-bdy Bs Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 I cant tell you the bolt size, but you should be able to wedge a small prybar/screwdriver between the flex plate teeth and the bellhousing. They shouldnt be THAT hard to get out.
