De-badging a Sierra

I have a question for anyone who's de-badged their truck. All emblems and lettering are off on my 2016 Sierra AT... The question is, the chrome door strips. Has anyone removed these before? If so, was it challenging?

Did my high country last weekend... used a hair dryer and spiderwire fishing line.

Does it leave a residue? Just 3M tape?

I would't use heat, makes a mess.

 

If you use your fishing line of choice to remove the badges, then start at one end and pull at about a 30-40 degree angle in the opposite direction that stuff just peels right off.
