4x4 sounds

I just got my first truck and it has 4x4 and I'm completely new to how the 4x4 system works. I put it in 4 high today and drove it around the block on dry pavement. It sounded soo much louder and noisy over the 2wd, especially when I made turns around the corner. Is this normal? The truck is a 2013 silverado 1500 w/ only 9,800 miles. Thanks.

Bad Karma to drive on dry pavement while 4wd,puts way too much stress on tires,gears etc.

Find a dirt trail and have some fun,I do it with my Burb as often as possible

I have a friend who recently got a nice '96 F250 4x4 and after adding a winch and new shocks to it we'll be hitting the hills this weekend.Since it's new to him he's anxiously waiting to test it,he's never had a 4x4.
