New iphone user with issues

I have switched from an android phone to an iphone and am having some issues with it getting along with the Mylink in my 2015 Silverado. when I receive a text my phone only vibrates and I don't get any notification on the DIC or Mylink. If I long press the phone button on the steering wheel I can get Siri and send a text message, but nothing when I receive one. I have searched the internet and it seems this was an issue a few years ago but not recently. My phone is a 6s with 9.3.1 iOS.

 

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help.

On your iPhone: Go to settings -> bluetooth -> then where you see MyLink under my devices -- hit the "i" on the right and turn on show notifications.

 

You should be good to go next time you link up via bluetooth.
