Heated seats stepping down???

Recommended Posts

So I noticed on my trip back for Northern California in my 2014 SLT Sierra this weekend my heated seats were stepping Down for high to medium automatically every 45-60 min. But they weren't even getting warm so I have no idea why they would do that. I've never encountered this issue before. Anyone else run into this???

I needed them coming back from Northern California near San Francisco it was in the 50s and 60s. Here in so cal it's hot though.

They recently replaced the heating modules since they kept blowing fuses. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also my headlights blew last week...I think it's all tied in hmmmmm???? The truck is only 16 months old but I had to pay out of pockets for repairs since I'm at 41k miles smh!

Wow, I think I had my vented seats on with the windows down at 60 lol.

Haha 60 isn't too bad but 50 is a little cold for us. So none has experienced this issue before?

I've seen my step down from high to medium, but its many minutes into them on.

Even though I am in Texas, I like the seat back on for my lower back issues with the AC turned to 68F. :)

I never experienced it before they replaced the heat seater or in my 2008 or 2007. I could see if they were getting super hot but they're barely warm at best.

In Wisconsin, we never turn the seat warmers on if its over freezing.

I think I have turned mine on twice ever....

anywyay, I'm sure its a safety thing to turn them down after so long. And there also must be a limit to how warm they can get? I mean you don't want to start melting plastic or start a fire. So if its 60 degrees out, would you even feel them?

50 degrees for heated seats? That's a nice Spring day in Colorado and the windows down...you Californians are weird...lol

Anyways, I have noticed if the ambient temperature outside is mild/warm, the heated seats don't work full bore. Same goes for the cooled seats on a cool/cold day.

50 in Canada is mid summer extreme heat advisory :) Get it checked out might be a simple fix. although I don't find the heated seats get all that warm in my truck even on high, as compared to my wifes Ford focus where I have to turn them off after 5 min.

Hope you get it figured out.

My truck has been a handful since I got it. I'm not happy with it in the year and few months I've had it. I regret trading in my 07 Silverado for it. It was bullet proof. This truck has had so much issues. I'm contacting GM in hopes to get it traded for something else or bought back.
