Heated seats stepping down???

Just for sh!ts and giggles I turned my seat on full bore yesterday, the outside temp was 63 degrees, and yes I had my window down. But after a 15 minute ride, but seat was only warm under my rear. I thought i'd have to shut it off, but it wasn't even uncomfortable.

My 2015 Silverado LT Z71 has heated seats that step down after a while as well.

Just for fun I looked up heated seats in the 16 sierra manual.

 

It says:

 

"Press the button once for the highest setting. With each press of the button, the seat will change to the next lower setting, and then to the off setting. The indicator lights next to the buttons indicate three for the highest setting and one for the lowest.

If the heated seats are on high for an extended time, their level may automatically be lowered."
