I need to be Organized

Today I took delivery on my 2016 High Country 2500. To say I am initially impressed is an understatement. The bluetooth/radio is making me batty but I hope to get it figured out in time.

 

What Im looking for now are ideas on what pool have done to organize the console and the open pit in front of the cup holders. I have a farm, I hunt, I fish, and I end up with places like that filled with odd junk and I want to avoid that with the new ride. Otherwise Ill have lures, a couple shotgun shells, some turkey calls, wrappers, dirt, and a glove or two and maybe a pair of pliers in there.

 

Anyone else face this trauma? What have you all found to help?

Ah! A pack rat like myself, good to have company. I attempt to limit how much crap I drop into my console, but every so often I look down and realize there is a little bit of everything in there. I did put a sandwich-sized zip lock baggie in there with all the phone chargers, adapters, and small items in it. That has seemed to help...some. I am fanatic about never leaving trash or empty cans and bottles in the truck, but there may be 12 pens, 3 spiral notebooks, a map, and some ear plugs floating around inside at any point.

GM offers an organizer for the console that rests on the rails under the lid. My console is currently holding my hitch insert, ratchet straps, and bungees. I've not found any good ideas for the open pit in front other than a place to hold drive-thru bags without setting it on the seat.

I am actually considering making a lid for the "pit". I have a ton of very pretty walnut if I work hard enough on a cardboard template it would work
