Paint Option Availability

Yes the selection has been horrible for years. Throw out the typical black, white, red & silver & you're not left w/ much. Before I saw the blue crew cab down in Branson, I hadn't seen any. Now they are quite common. Whenever a 'new' colour comes out everyone goes to it & it isn't so special.

From the '79 brochure:

1979%20Brochure%20Colours_zps5jslpchv.jp

No automation, just hand sprayed on a single line thru the paint shop.

Sorry about the pic on its side.

Lots of colors, could you get them all on the double cabs and crew cabs too back then...? :P

My father had a '79 GMC CC that was a 2 tone. I'm thinking it was Light Camel Metallic (Primary) & Santa Fe Tan (Secondary).

How many colours do Ford & Dodge offer for their pickups?
