Hey guys this is my first post new to the website...i have a 1995 gmc sierra c1500 5.7l motor...i bought the truck 5 months ago ran great i started seing a check engine light that would come on then go away..i checked it doing the paper clip and reading the flashes i got a code 13 which is o2 sensor open circuit or no activity...i went under the truck and notice the o2 sensor was unplugged and the connector was melted..i got a new acdelco o2 sensor and put it in but forgot to dissconnect the battery to reset it so i did it the next day and it started acting up stalling and bogging when idling in gear..then it would just die..the map sensor is new the iac valve too along with the egr valve and solenoid..then yesterday i unplugged the o2 sensor to see what it would do and everything went back to normal...i notice that some ppl say the o2 sensor is heated?the one i bought wasnt a heated sensor..any ideas why it would do this?im guessing thats why it was unplugged in the first place last owner mustve been dealing with same issue

the o2 will make it trim..take fuel away.

you may have a fuel delivery issue.

it does take quite some time to make the computer learn.

maybe let it idle for a silly long 30 minutes or something...tap throttle around once and awhile.

the fact that it does respond by dying is hope. :)

tip:

you should smell something electrical like when it goes ahead.

o2 is a generator, little one.
