Bad Torsion bars?

Recommended Posts

So my truck is an 03 silverado Z71 ext. cab 4x4 with 94k. My question is can the torsion bars go bad? Mine are maxed and the front end still has that raked look. I think the previous owner used it for plowing and hauling something with a 5th wheel hitch (might have had the box replaced or hauled a 5th wheel) My rear springs are close to being shot it sits on the bump stops with only my ATV (~750lbs.) Anyway can my torsion bars be shot? I was thinking of pulling the keys and trying to index them 1 more flat and see if I can get them back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very well so especially if there was a plow. Chances are that truck probably doesn't have plow prep either so the bars are lower rated to start with.
