Onstar App remote start issue

So I have a 2016 Silverado CC, and when I remote start from the app it always turns on the defroster . Today is was 100 and when I got in after remote starting the defroster was on again. When I remote start from the key fob the AC comes on like it is supposed to.

 

Has anyone had this problem?

I was told it repeats what you leave it on when you turn the vehicle off. Correct me if I am wrong. I run my system on AUTO all the time anyway.

I've noticed mine lately appears to run the defrost but I'm wondering if it's blown all the time and just now cause its so hot and the ac is cold if its just condensing now when it didn't before. I also leave mine on Auto 100% of the time.

Not sure I understand? i guess i need to ask this stupid question LOL Are you saying that when you use the Onstar app on your phone to remote start that the truck starts up and then the COOL air is blowing out of the defrost vents at the windshield instead of the dash vents? Or are you saying that HOT air is coming out the defrost vents at the windshield and the truck never cools?

 

FYI the post made me curious so I just remote started from my phone Onstar app and my 2016 Denali is blowing cool air out of the dash vents NOT the defrost vent..............................

It's blows cool air from the defrost vents when I start from the app not the AC vents.

The truck slowly cools but the air is not being blown out through the AC vents only the defrost vents.

It might be a programming thing, I mean as long as it is blowing cold air into the truck it shouldn't be a problem. They probably programmed it to do defrost no matter what season. So if it's always defrost then during the winter that's really what matters. I just used it today and the truck was cooled down. I will use it tomorrow and I will see if mine is defrost only.

Well used it today and the cold air was blowing out the vents and not the defrost. Set on AUTO and at 70°.

I was informed by on star that I need to take it to the dealer, there may be an issue with a module .
