Westers Garage PCM

Anyone out there have experience with Westers Garage PCMs?? This guy claims he can remove all torque management and truly custom tune your PCM. What I have read seems to be all good, just wondered if anyone out there had any other information. Check them out here

I checked out their site, but $495 (US$) is pretty pricey for my truck... I'm seriously considering a "Predator" which allows my to make changes to the program and also allows me to read trouble codes and will eliminate the "torque mgnt" problem for about $70 less...

I don't know anything about Westers, and to me it sounds like their PCM program is 100% fixed and not tunable... I'm not saying that it isn't a good program, but rather that I don't really know much about them.

Westers programming is a bit pricey compared to the others. I am pleased as punch with my SC tuner, but would like to get rid off light throttle upshifts and torque management PERIOD. Since the newer PCMs have flash memory the tuning should be wide open for adjustments. As with the LS1 edit, a wrong move by an unexperienced programmer could cause some major problems

There's quite a lot of infomration about Wester's Garage at pickuptruck.com. I emailed and spoke to Lyndon Wester and decided to give his PCM a try.

After all I've read on putc and from talking to him, I'm sure I'm going to love this.

I should have it in a week or so, I'd be glad to share my thoughts after I've experienced it first-hand.

Where did you get the sc tuner?

tps0424, did you have to send wester's your chip? I like the fact they say they will redo it if you make changes later. For $595, i'd hope so.

:fume: I have had a Wersters PCM for about 2 weeks now. If you truly want a increase in performance on 87 octane gas, this is the only way to go. It works as claimed. My 6 litre 3/4 ton goes like a scalded dog and the gas milage has stayed the same. I will be pulling my 5er next weekend and that will seal the deal. You can't beat a 100% satisfaction or your money backDo any of the others offer that???

Mine shipped out 5/29/03. I hope it gets here tomorrow.

bigtruck21, Westers will send you a new up dated computer. You have 31 day money back trail period. All you do is send Westers the one you remove from your truck.it is my understanding, You can keep your old one but will have to pay a core price to Westers.

Bigtruck21... I haven't sent Wester's anything but the payment yet. It's not a chip, it's the whole PCM. You remove the one that came with your truck and install the one that Wester's sends you. After that, you send back your old one or pay $170 core charge to keep it. I think the price is $495 and not $595. Still a lot of money either way. I can't wait to get it!!!!

Everyone let me know how you like it after you've had it for a while. The 03's cost $595 while 01-02 are $495. I suppose it would be better than trying a programmer which have mixed reviews between everyone. Seems like everyone is happy with westers. :fume:
