Trailer connector voltage?

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra with the max tow package and built in brake controller. The brakes on my travel trailer seem "soft" to me. The trailer weighs about 10,000 lbs fully loaded, and I've towed it about 10,000 miles, a lot of it in the mountains. I had the brakes on the trailer replaced because I figured it was time to do so. (I didn't want to do it myself because I don't really understand the whole electric magnet thing in the trailer brakes). The brakes were worn but not worn out. I don't notice any difference in the way they feel with the new pads. The brakes just don't grab very hard at all. I wonder if the brake controller is not putting out the correct voltage.

Can anyone tell me what the output voltage range on brake wire on the 7 pin connector on the truck should be?

Thanks

Sounds like whomever installed the new trailer brakes didn't adjust them very good, too much travel in them so when they finally catch they are at their max output already. I've had it happen a few times on a few different trailers

The trailer has self adjusting brakes so I'm not sure that applies. Very good thought though! I'll see if there's some way to adjust them manually.

Ok I'm new here and looking for help ,my 2015 2500hd rv trailer brakes are not working. After some digging into it I found that I have 0 voltage at plug ,my local dealership says there is no voltage until connected to trailer? Any ideas I've checked fuse and maxed out gain.
