2016 Silverado Running board LED lights / Interior foot well lighting?

I'm looking to run some running board LEDS and eventually some foot well LEDS.

Want to make sure the gray wire running up the driver side door pillar is still the same connection / colored wire for the 2016 Silverados.

How much load can the gray dome light "tap in" hold before its to much?

Also where is there access to run the LED wires from the door pillar ( gray wire) to under the truck for my running boards? Any pics?

*I'm not a big fan of having to drill into the floor of a brand new truck... (give me a few months and feeling that will go away...lol)

If you are running LED's as auxiliary lighting, you shouldn't have a problem with handling the load capacity. You could always run a relay if you think the load will be greater than the supply, but I don't think that would be necessary.

As for access, the best bet is to use the rubber grommet that the hood release cable runs through on the driver's side floor board. You can make it a tad bigger by just cutting the grommet with a utility knife. After you get your wires through, a little lead of silicone will ensure its all waterproof

Awesome thanks for the tip, with the shift cable grommet access.

Is there a place to tap into on the wire block under the dash by the drivers feet? I just need to know what block / color wire spot to tap into under the dash, instead of running a wire up to the door pillar..

There is a spot under the dash in the driver's side foot-well. There should be a plug going into one of the main power distribution points that has the interior lighting wires. If I remember correctly someone on here had some pics of it. In my honest opinion I would honestly just run up the pillar to avoid adding any more stuff under the dash, not to mention it is probably a lot easier to work on.

Where in NJ are you located? I am in central NJ outside of Trenton, I'd be happy to give you a hand if need be.
