The plug I installed to remove it with ease when needed!! Works GREAT!

The face folds down, and there are buttons, also works by remote too!

This is just a guess, only becuase mine started doing the same thing...that is where the tan overcoat is rubbing off. GM started saving money by only making one dash piece, and if they needed a tan one, they would just spray it tan. In the old days, the entire piece used to be tan. Anyways, that crap comes off, and it looks like s**t. I had that piece (the one where then tan on yours is coming off) replaced under warranty. Now I can see on mine where it is starting to come off on the actual top of the dash board. It really makes me mad...I don't use any harsh cleaners on it either.

Looks good. My only negative was I had to remove the tire iron for space. It was the only way I could get the three pieces to fit.

Enjoy the sound!!

Your probally correct.

It was like that when I bought it. THat was the ONLY blemish this tahoe had. I figure I am just going to cover it with a wood grain dash kit anyhow.

Ill post some pics of my subwoofer setup too, I put in a plug for easy removal, turned out sharp!

I looked at that head unit when I bought mine. There is a button on the front(I think it is the little red one on the side) that you push and the face folds down to reveal the slot for the cd and all the controls are on the other side of the face plate.
