Why wouldnt a 2015 grill fit on a 2014?

I have a 2014 and want a white grill surround. This says it will fit the same truck if its a 2015. I dont get it. I didnt think any grill changes were made between the two years.

I have a 2014 rally edition and just did a swap to a 2015 midnight z71 grill matched up perfect

That might be referring to the 2007-2014 GMT-800 platform not the 2014-2015 K2 platform. The k2 2014-2015 grill is interchangeable.

As long as it's a 1500 it will fit. Now if it's a 2500HD or 3500Hd then the grill was different in 2014 and that swap wouldn't work.
