Hey everyone... Im new to this forum and need some advice. I just bought a 4" spindle lift and 3" rear block kit for my 98 C1500 and was wondering what size tires I should put on my new 16x8 american racing wheels? The kit recommends a max of 32" so what should i do? Thanks for the help everyone!

I'm running 315x75x16's on mine with the 4.5" Tuff Country kit with tons of room.

Check it out from the link in my signature.

Most fitment charts are pretty conservative in their estimates on tire size. A tire shop shouldn't have a problem test fitting a 285 if you are going to spend a couple hundred bucks with them.

With 4" of lift on the older body style, 285's are going to look a little small. 285's will run on that truck stock with no problems as long as you don't get the wheel backset off too much.

I may be wrong, but I'm assuming that since he said "spindle lift", he has a 4x2. I agree 285's would look small on a 4x4 with a 4 inch lift, but a 4x2 sits lower.

:D Didn't catch the C1500 part.

How would 285s fit on a C1500/2WD with STOCK suspension? The back looks like tons of room, but it's the front I'm concerned about. I don't do any off-roading, but I do make a lot of tight turns when parking. ANybody running 285s in this way?

Maybe my tire dealer will do one of those mount-and-fit checks for me.

My dad has a C1500 Sierra. He currently has the stock 225's on. I have 285's and the 285's are above his fender when I put them next to his truck. So no way would they fit without the lift. With the lift however you should have no problem. My 99Tahoe has no lift or tortion bar cranking and I fit 285's in there. I only rub on the top of the fender when I go off road. No other times. I am getting the Body lift so I will never have rub then. Good luck. It will look great once you are done. Glad to see someone lifting a 4x2. It is different. And better than lowering.

I had 265/75-16s on my 93 2wd Suburban. This is the same body as the C1500. They would gently touch occasionally on a hard bump while turning. These were mounted on 16x8 wheels with a 5” backspacing on the front. A 285/75-16 or 305/70-16 should work well with a 4” lift. Both will be 33”. The 305s are a bit wide on an 8” wheel. The pictures of my truck in my signature are with a 305 tire.

I don’t think there is any way a 285/75 will fit on the front of a stock C1500 without serious rubbing issues.
