Injector Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just bought a 2001 Yukon Denali with the 6.0. The fuel pressure is 40 and increases to 50 when the regulator is unplugged. As soon as the power is off the pressure immediately drops to 0. The guy I bought it from had a fuel pump installed and then replaced it under warranty in May. I find it hard to believe that the original and two replacement fuel pumps were bad. There is no sign of an external leak. I attempted to shut off flow in the fuel line with pliers to isolate the tank but was not able to pinch it tight enough. Would leaky injectors cause the pressure to drop that fast?
