2013 Silverado Windhsield Wiper Issues

The windshield wipers in my truck don't operate.

Symptoms are:

A while ago I thought the wipers were moving slow while in low speed mode.

Wipers are not at the park position and when I start the truck I can see them try to move to park. Only move a very little twitch, maybe up to a 1/16" of movement.

Can see some movement when in the regular or high speed setting. Movement is only 1 twitch of the wipers and then nothing.

Windshield washer function squirts fluid on the windshield but wipers don't move or only twitch.

I have verified the fuse is good.

It is my understanding that the BCM is used to control the wipers.

Looking for assistance in diagnosing the cause of the issue so I'm not randomly replacing parts in hope of fixing the problem.

Thank you for any help.

I had a similar issue on my old truck because the motor wasn't getting a good ground connection. You could try tightening the mounting bolts on the motor?

More than likely a wiper transmission issue. Common failure for the wipers on the GMT-900 platform. Sold 4 last month alone. GM sells the transmission and the motor all as one unit. The motor, transmission, linkages, etc. cannot be bought individually. P/N is 23328193, $203.42.

I would still check the ground first. Never know

Do you know where all the grounds are located. I'll check the wiper mounting bolts to make sure they are tight but have no idea where to start looking for the other grounds.

As you can see it depends on which engine you have for some reason!!! Diesel is G103, 4.3 is G107 and all others which I assume is yours is G102.

It should be #8 on this diagram according to the GM server.

But I believe this ground is shared by your injectors and I now tend to agree with buddy that you might have a motor failure .... If you are in the USA GMpartsdirect.com has a good price on those if it isn't under warranty.

Won't be the bolts for sure they go through a rubber noise isolator bushing.

Update. Issue resolved.

I checked the ground and it was OK. Unplugged the connector at the wiper motor and checked for power for each switch position and all was good. Concluded the wiper motor and transmission assembly was defective. Out of warranty so I ordered one on line and finally got it installed and everything is back to working normal.

Thanks to everyone for your input to this issue!
