So I did some reading but I just want to clarify, when I press the snowflake the indicator comes on. A snowflake with a line throug it, this means im turning off the actual A/C pump or condenser? Also during the winter to have heat do I need to press it to turn the A/C or can I just run it like that?

On my 2005, when the A/C is not selected, there is no snowflake at all. When you select the A/C the snowflake symbol is lit. I have not seen one with a line thru it but I do not know what type of climate control system you have in your truck.

In the winter, you do not want the A/C on unless you need the windshield defrosted, and only then does it need to be on. When you select defrost, it automatically comes on. But if you don't need the windshield defrosted, turn the climate control back to heat. Otherwise you are wasting fuel by having the A/C compressor run when it doesn't need to.

I hope this helps.

Did some more reading turns out they changed the system in 04 due to the complaints of the AC system working backwards looks like in 03 when the snowflake is on you turned your AC off so the aor is just venting and when there is no snowflake your AC is on, hence the line through the snowflake, I just wanted some clearing up but I think I got it, thanks for the replies anyways
