the truck has a 5.7l engine with throttle body fuel injection it ran to work then died pulling out of work. i can hear the pump run for a few seconds then shut off when i turn the key but no gas to the throttle body. it has a new filter, new oil switch, new sending unit. i banged on the tank to try to jar things loose. no go. next i will take the filter off to see if i got pressure there if not i guess it is drop the tank (damn half tank of gas.) and it is 10 miles from home. i checked the relay it clicks but i might change it anyway because it and the pump are both original. does this sound logical?

Makes since to me but a fuel pressure check would confirm it. :happysad:

well the fuel pump works. it has enough pressure at the inlet and outlet of the filter just no gasoline to the throttle body itself when i disconnected the lines so i will blow out the lines tomarrow to see if any crude is in it. the line coming out of the filter leaks so i wonder if i can replace the o ring or do i have to replace the whole line?

Fix the fuel line first.

IMO if you don't have the correct fuel pressure it won't run. 91 with original fuel pump, do a fuel pressure check with a gauge.

i need at make an adaptor to fit in the fuel filter. when i hook the new fuel filter up it leaks at the outlet end. i am thinking it is a defective fuel filter i will try the old one tomarrow and still no gas to the throttle body so i will blow the line out and take the injectors out to check the screens.
