'16 Silverado RCSB tire options with 3/6 drop

Hey guys new member here, came across this forums when I picked up my 2016 Silverado RCSB.

I need your opinions and knowledge. I'm planning to lower my Silverado 3/6 within a couple months and will be buying a set of oe 22s from Sierra AT. With that being said what are the best options of tires for me.

You'll likely want to keep as close to stock diameter as possible to keep the speedometer accurate (unless you have a handheld which can reprogram tire size). The stock tire diameter with a 275/55r20 is 31.91 inches give or take a few hundredths. Stock tire size on a factory 22" wheel is a 285/45r22 which equates to a 32.10" tire. Typically, a 3% difference in overall tire diameter is desireable. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to run a stock size with minimal to no rub. Let us know how it works out!

I read on this somewhere on here that a 305/40r22 is practically the same. With the 305 I will probably rub a lot more because if width correct.

It all depends on your wheel setup, but a factory wheel may not even support a 305 section tire. If it does, it's going to look ballooned and goofy, not to mention the fact that it will probably rub. I'd love to put a big meaty 305 on my truck but I don't think it's very practical with square chevy fenders

The wheels I'm looking into are 22x9 with +31 offset. I would like to get as much tire on it has possible. I wouldn't mind minimal rubbing.

If you look at a lot of tire manufacturers, for this 305/40r22 size, a minimum rim width of 10" is recommended. For your sake I'd go with an OE size. If you decide to go another route, please let us know how it works. The lowered truck community needs to stick together

I'd stick with a 285 44 . But I'm on a 3/6 myself. And on hue dips my 275 55 hit the inner fender a little.

Would you happen to have any pictures of the truck. I would like to see what a 3/6 within 22s would look like.

I have 20s. Sorry I have 275 55 20

 

But the tire is 10.8 wide and 31.9 tall. It's just a reference for size

 

It stick with a 275 wide or even 265

 

I'm going 1" lower all around and doing 255/55/20

I currently have the factory polished aluminum 20s with 275/55r20. If I lower it 3/6 would it rub at all?

I have that exact wheel and tire. The front will slightly rub the front liner in huge dip . I've only done it once since I've lowered the truck. You'll be fine

Trucks looks nice. I'll probably go the same route with 22s but for now it'll stay with the factory 20s

Did you add those chrome pieces on the grill or came as is?
