New water pumped installed and now there is a squeal

I replaced the water pump on my 2001 Jimmy and now there is a squeal (sounds almost like metal to metal) that I cannot figure out where it's coming from. I have replace the alternator, idle pulley, and the tensioner pulley with no change. The squeal starts up after the engine has ran for a little while. Also, I noticed that the temp gauge bounces a bit when driving. It will start climbing then drop back down then back up to where it was. The heat works great though. I have also put on different belts to no avail. Where do I look now? Could the new pump be the issue?

Since the Jimmy & Blazers are basically the same vehicle & the engines are identical you will find your answer there. They're very helpful. Best place for answers.

Additional note: when replacing a water pump it's also highly recommended to replace the fan clutch at the same time. If you didn't change out the serpentine belt with the new pulley then changing that would also be helpful since it was running on the old pulley.

Dayco Part #5060950 serpentine belt grips well. This part is for the 4.3L Vortec engine. Much quieter & less stretching. Best price for it is on EBay for about $24 including shipping. It's almost $40 to buy it at Advance Auto Parts for the exact same part.

Water pumps, like any other part, can still be defective despite being new. I went with a new one that was OEM when I changed out it on my 2002 Chevy Blazer. Bought it from a seller on EBay. It worked perfectly after installing it. Still no problems for almost a year now.
