4wd not engaging 16' 1500

I noticed recently that my 4wd (manual not electric) is not engaging in 4lo or 4hi and the indicator light that usually appears on my dash is not there either. I have a RC 6" knuckle lift .. Would anyone have some insight to this? I tried searching and only found people having issues with grinding or other noise and mine doesn't make noise so I'm at a loss.. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you ?

I would check to see if the front diff actuator connector is unplugged or if wiring is broken to it. Possibly wasn't clipped in correctly after lift install.

to add to ScreamingChevy....

 

it could also be a faulty/dead actuator.

 

i know on my '89 i've replaced the actuator a number of times (probably every 4-5 years)
