Adding Trailer brake to truck (thoughts)

So I'm thinking about adding Trailer brake to my GMC All terrain. Has anyone went to dealer and got it added, if so could someone inform me on price for install?

I have this empty spot there that's pretty much useless and it's quite annoying. Anyone that doesn't have it knows what I mean. I can post pics later.

 

Also thought I'd mention there was a wiring harness in my glove box for an aftermarket Trailer in brake, I want to know if anybody went that route

You can NOT add the factory trailer brake control. Gotta go aftermarket.

i concur with 15HDriver above. You cannot add the factory brake controller and the harness in the glove box is for aftermarket controllers. I added an aftermarket controller on mine and it was a cake walk with the GM harness. They have a spot that is already fused that the harness plugs into under the dash. It couldnt be any easier to add an aftermarket controller.

Got a very lightly used one for sale in the for sale section harness already wired up just plug it in
