Cargo light on while driving with stock button

Press the switch to turn the cargo lamp on or off. An indicator light will turn on when the lamp is turned on, if equipped.

The shift lever must be in P (Park) to operate the cargo lamp.

The lights on the outside rearview mirrors turn on if the shift lever is in R (Reverse), N (Neutral), or P (Park).

Really wanting to figure this out.  I did the remote tailgate release using a pac7 but don’t quite grasp this one? I know it’s an old thread but did you come up with a more detailed set of instructions? Or has someone come up with a simpler way to bypass this?  I have the MVI camera system and they bypass the camera in motion feature sounds like it would be similar
