Rear bumper step pad

Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you have ever replaced the top plastic bumper step pad on the rear bumper of your trucks. Long story short, mine got damaged, had to have it replaced. Had the dealer do it but edges of the pad never fit flush and tight to the chrome part like it did on the original one. They tried to "fix" it with some glue but it doesnt hold and there are gaps between the plastic and chrome, especially at the corners. I'm pretty sure they never removed the bumper from the truck and bent the plastic out of shape trying to fit it on. Just wondering if anyone ever replaced just the plastic pad and if they had any problems like mine with the new one fitting flush and tight all the way around the edges. Any pics would help to.

Thanks,
Jeff

They basically said that is all they can or willing to do. The bumper is fine. I had a boat trailer tongue come off the hitch and roll forward and scraped along the step pad in the part near the license plate which bent and tore the plastic. The metal is fine isn't even dented or damaged. The parts of the plastic that currently don't sit flush aren't even near the area damaged. Also I've seen people with badly dented bumpers and the plastic still sits tight and flush at the corners where mine doesn't. So I don't get it lol
