2008 Silverado Aftermarket Pioneer Stereo- Help

Good evening everyone,

 

Today I decided I wanted to put a "bypass" for the DVD option on my aftermarket Pioneer AVHX1500-DVD head unit (yes, I'm aware it's illegal but it's for the passengers...not to mention the DVD player wouldn't play with the parking brake on anyways) The previous owner had an amp and sub setup- lots of wires and a random relay switch for the amp behind the head unit. I do have a background in electronics with planes, but not cars as much.

 

THE PREDICAMENT:

 

I took apart the dash and went behind the unit. I started un-doing a lot of the extra wires that he had connected. The relay switch was connected to the ground (car and audio grounds), the blue and white wire from the head unit (attached to a blue wire which was used to connect to the amp I'm speculating, and a black/red wire attached to the two yellow direct current wires (car and unit).

 

As I was taking the wires apart something sparked (I was stupid enough not to disconnect the battery), and I blew the 15amp fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. Since then I have reconnected all the wires straight to the vehicle wires, except the blue/white (which I've been told is used for amps and such) and the green parking brake wire.

 

Now the head unit will not turn on at all, and I replaced the 15 amp fuse but it continues to just blow fuses. The 10 amp fuse in the actual unit isn't blown so I'm pretty sure the unit is still in working condition.

 

I'm a bit puzzled as to why the unit won't turn on... I followed one of the wires that he had connected to the relay switch and it has a strange connection (looks like a tee) to a yellow wire on the passenger side (a wire bundle that is behind the glove box).

 

If anyone could shed any extra light on the situation and give me some suggestions on troubleshooting or the like I would greatly appreciate it.
