Lifted1500 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Hello everyone i have a 2007 Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.3L with 161k on it. I have read a hand full of old treads about trans issues and found some that are similar to mine but I wanted to see if there is any current updated or if something has changed on the resolution of the problem. 1. Trans does not upshift out of first, speedometer reads zero. When this happens as soon as my truck comes to a complete stop I hit the gas then its fine until it decides to do it again. 2.when I put it in reverse it will move but if I hit the gas peddle if feels like it disengages and a loud whining/scraping noise and no reverse. ill put vehicle in drive or park the noise slowly goes away then put it back into reverse and same thing its fine until I apply like 10% of the gas pedal then it will do the same thing. 3. I am throwing a p0449 ???? the truck has a Rough Country 7.5inch lift kit with 35 in tires ANY INFO WILL HELP I WANNA GET IT FIXED JUST DONT WANNA TAKE IT TO A SHOP AND GET RIPPED OFF!!!
muddkatt Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 The CEL code is for your emissions, not related to your transmission issue. Have you checked the fluid level with the truck level, warmed up, engine running while its in park? Fluid smell burned? What color is the fluid?
Lifted1500 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 i have not checked it lately. I will tomorrow and report back thanks
Lifted1500 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Check fluid level and its alittle over filled but it looks clean not burnt
