Hey guys. The toy/project bug is biting me right now.

Do me a favor, if you could. Let me know if you see any 68 Firebirds, or Camaros for sale in your area. I prefer RS or RS/SS for the Camaro, and 400 cars for the Firebirds.

The RS is the type of Camaro with the hidden headlights and and 68's have marker lights on the side, whereas 67's don't.

The 400 Firebirds have the dual hood scoop look, typically, but not always, and like the Camaro, the 68 has side markers.

I don't mind '67's, especially if they are something unique.

Thanks guys! Just thought I'd see if anything is out there!

If I saw a 1st Gen camaro inmy area would you think I'd be telling you? j\k

Actually no I haven't, but if I do spot one, and it's out of my price range, sure, I'll let you know.  ;)

Dude, you've gotta get something else before you even think about buying a car!

This car looks straight but the color is awful.  He is selling it for $11957 with free delivery in the lower 48...

Shane,

Me likes the 69 Hugger Orange RS/SS(?) in the background better.

Any chance he'll sell that one or did you find that pic by searching on the net?

I've been on/off searching for a 68 RS/SS or a 69 RS/SS or Z28 for a while now, and from what I've found out, there are a TON of fakes out there, not to mention the problem areas to look for with the body/frame, that sellers can easily hide, if you don't know where to look.  I'd hope some day I could find the perfect one for me, but after doing research, I'm starting to give up hope.  Around my locale anyway.

Thanks for the links guys. I actually already check those out along with stuff like Camaros.net and classical Pontiac.

Shaners, that is one you posted is probably more my speed, given my lack of wrench-ability! I have thought about buying one that is close to complete, or complete because I haven't ever done anything like rebuild one from the ground up. But, you've gotta start somewhere and I have friends who have built stuff to help me along.

The problem is, the Camaros in my price range are all on fire, or are victims of the crusher already, if you catch my drift.

If I had the money ( don't we all say that?), I'd buy a '68 RS-Z28 that has a little over 60k original miles and is almost perfect. It is ZZ green ( dark) with white stripes and a black interior. OOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh, I'd whore myself out for the rest of my life for that car, but alas, that would probably only earn me a few pennies from some blind chick taking pity on

me ;)

Did I mention it is about $32k? It ain't worth that much. I'd buy an LS6 Chevelle for that....maybe.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

There is a 1969 Camaro ZL1 in a barn here around where I live in Kingsport, TN. That is the rumor! The old man who owns the barn won't even let anyone near it so who knows what is in there! Might have to do a little covert operation to get some info!! :)

A little covert action might getcha shot by a drunkin' old farmer!

Has anyone tried to talk to the wife of the old man with the barn? Maybe she could shed some light.......

Thanks for the link Shaners......I have always wondered why he always prices things the way he does.......like $10,557. Usually people make it $10,599. He used to do a little "rougher" stuff a few years ago, I think. I've got to get the VIN off of the one that my wife' step-brother has seen. I'd at least like to know what it was, since it is a basket case now.
